The people are the best bit! I love that I get to see people every day in all different kinds of settings… like the people I teach, the people I research with, the people who participate in my research. Psychology is all about understanding people so as a particularly sociable person, I enjoy this a lot.

I think the fascinating thing about psychology is that there are always new ideas being discussed. Even when we think we know something, someone else will come along and say that our ideas are actually wrong. That continual refinement of ideas keeps me on my toes!

The favourite part of my job is getting to conduct research studies! In my research, I get to speak to lots of different people about their experiences. I then turn this into scientific data which is really cool!!

It is so varied: teaching, supporting students, research, and public speaking as well as lots of other things like community partnership work and leading teams.
