Psychology has both good and bad aspects! There’s also been recent scientific research that has shown social media has relatively no direct affect on mental health. It’s a combination of lots of different things! Social media can also be a really good thing. For example, i found people with dementia used social media to feel less lonely.

Social media can be a great way to connect with others, but we need to use it in moderation if it starts interfering with social relationships, well-being, attention and productivity. Everything in moderation! Making sure to respect others and use social media responsibility also helps.

Social media can be both a blessing and a curse. Some of my research with older people has argued that it is tremendously useful for connecting people who are socially isolated – and I think we’re all discovering that these days!
But I realise that it can harm your mental health if you use it too much or compare yourself against the people that you see/read about there.
